Steve Schroyer - Full Bio
Steve is a Landscape Architect by trade and specialized in master planning and entitlements. Such great experience was gained while working at Design Studios West in the tough environment of Summit County with Intrawest on Copper Mountain and 3 Peaks. Some of the most difficult entitlements for development projects are in the ski resort and mountain town areas.
Steve moved on from doing the actual planning work and mostly managing when he joined McWhinney in 2001. As VP of Acquisitions, he managed a wide variety of fantastic and often complicated projects. The most complex was the Wilson Ranch in Berthoud, CO. This project was met with severe opposition and the annexation was even determined by an election. The project required over 30 consecutive Planning and Zoning Board Meetings and 30 Town Board Meetings. The project was entitled and approved with some of the best vesting ever seen in this area.
Steve then joined Blue Ocean Enterprises from 2011 to 2018. He was nearly the first associate and grew the real estate arm of Blue Ocean. Steve brought on construction management and property management as the company grew to nearly 45 in the real estate department. While at Blue Ocean Steve was able to significantly grow the company's footprint in Old Town Fort Collins. Nearly 500,000 s.f. was added to the portfolio in purchases and new construction. He was also able to return to some of his initial planning days by working on some resort projects in the British Virgin Islands.
For the past three years, Steve has been working with the team at Hayden Outdoors. As a consultant with Hayden, he is able to offer development experience with listings and projects as they came up.
